China’s Future Lock on your Next Auto Repair

August 8, 2010

“In China, automotive industry workers are striking for higher pay. In the U.S., auto-industry workers are agreeing to pay cuts — and then their employers are being sold to Chinese companies.” Source: Salon.com

Striking for higher pay isn’t the only thing the Chinese are doing. They are also buying sections of the US auto industry.

Bertel Schmitt at The Truth About Cars writes about Chinese investors buying up Western Auto Parts manufacturers.   He says that 70% of China’s $160 billion auto-component makers are foreign companies.

It appears that due to the sick global economy, which hasn’t hit China as hard, many of these foreign auto parts companies are hurting as profits shrivel.

Schmitt says that some deals have already been made as Chinese bought Australian gearbox maker Drivetrain Systems International, a supplier to Ford and Chrysler, and GM sold Nexter to a Beijing Consortium who had government backing.

Similar sales took place in 2009, and today struggling U.S. Firms like Delphi, Lear and Visteon may be up for sale soon.

If Chinese investors buy enough Western auto-parts manufacturers, China may add that industry to solar panel and wind-turbine manufacturing along with the country’s monopoly on refining rare-earth mineral necessary for hi-tech products and weapons systems.

Similar “Oily” Interests

February 24, 2010

China’s hunger for oil is not equal to America’s gluttony but it is getting there. Meanwhile, America and its allies blame China for the stalemate over stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

This is my confession. I’m seeking God’s forgiveness for my sins. Every American who drives a car is an accessory to a crime—9/11.  The more oil, gas or diesel consumed, the more guilt.

There are two parts to this sin.

The first stage for this crime took place during America’s Cold War with Communism. If you haven’t seen Charlie Wilson’s War, rent it.  Americans were the mad scientists who created the Frankenstein, the metamorphosis of the wolf men—the demons we call al-Qaida.

The Taliban, who supported al-Qaida’s goal to eliminate all Western Cultures and create a Caliphate—a throwback to another era, learned their Islamic Fundamentalism from Saudi Arabia’s dominant faith, Wahhabism. Oil money paid for the Wahabi schools that Saudi Arabia built around the world.  These schools teach fundamentalist Islamic principles that grow future terrorists recruited by al-Qaida and the Taliban.

Saudi Oil Wells

And who feeds Saudi oil to their SUVs, cars, trucks, eighteen-wheelers and coast to coast freight trains and jet planes?

When China blocks action against Iran’s nuclear ambitions, because the Chinese people love American food and buy GM, Ford, Volkswagen and Toyota, isn’t their hunger the same?

See America Doing Business in China

Doing Business in China

February 7, 2010

I’ve talked to an American doing business in China who was frustrated with the process while another American like Bob Grant wrote I Like the Chinese People.

After all, Bill Gates Went to China. It seems many American businessmen are getting along better with the Chinese than the Western media and politicians. When’s the last time you heard something nice about China from the Western media or an American politician?  For some reason, China has become a scapegoat turning the attention of the American people away from the problems we have in the United States.

In the meantime, General Motors and Ford are doing great in China while they are struggling in the debt ridden United States. The Chinese love American cars. The Chinese also seem to have a passion for McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, KFC and Starbucks.

Starbucks in China

 Wal-Mart is in China too.

If America wants to get along better with the Chinese government, we should turn businessmen like Bill Gates or Bob Grant into diplomats.
